Nocem Collado. Directora

I was born in Granada and from an early age my passion for images, travel and anthropology have led me to develop my professional life as a documentary director, producer, photographer and magazine contributor in which I write about the situation of women in the countries I visit.

I have travelled through almost all of Asia. My travels have given rise to a number of photography exhibitions, the most important of which are “Women on the Silk Road”, “Visions of Islam” and “Yemen, the Happy Arabia”.

My first documentary “Cartography of Loneliness” (2011) was shortlisted in a number of international film festivals and was acknowledged as one of the best European documentaries in Hamburg, Cambridge and Bilbao.

My second documentary “Women and Water” (2013) coincides with the year chosen by the UN as the International Year Of Water Co-Operation. It is more poetical in texture but is still an argument in support of women’s rights.
